75-Inch TV Dimensions: Width, Height, Depth and Weight
Measurements for planning a 75-inch TV into a real room: the screen math, the outside dimensions of current models with and without their feet, and the furniture, wall and doorway space they need.
A 75-inch TV has a screen 65.4 in wide and 36.8 in tall (166.0 × 93.4 cm). With the frame, current 75-inch models measure 65.6–66.0 in wide, 37.7–38.0 in tall and 1.1–2.9 in deep (167 × 96 × 3–7 cm) without the stand, and weigh 54–85 lb (25–38 kg).

75-inch TV screen dimensions
These are the measurements of the lit picture on a 16:9 panel: width is the diagonal × 0.872 and height is the diagonal × 0.490. In millimeters, the screen is 1660 × 934 mm.
Many brands sell the size as "75-inch class" with a 74.5 in viewable diagonal (Samsung, Sony and Hisense list it this way). That picture is 64.9 × 36.5 in (164.9 × 92.8 cm), half an inch narrower than a full 75. It matters only if you are building a frame or recess to the exact picture size.
75-inch TV dimensions by model, with and without stand
Outside dimensions are what you measure furniture and walls against. The width is remarkably consistent across brands because bezels are now thin: every current model below is within 0.4 in of 66 in wide. Depth and weight vary far more.
| Model | W × H × D (in) | W × H × D (cm) | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung DU7200 (UN75DU7200) | 66.0 × 37.9 × 2.4 | 167.6 × 96.3 × 6.1 | 55.8 lb (25.3 kg) |
| Samsung QN90D Neo QLED | 65.7 × 37.7 × 1.1 | 167.0 × 95.7 × 2.8 | 75.2 lb (34.1 kg) |
| Sony Bravia 7 (K-75XR70) | 65.7 × 37.8 × 2.2 | 166.8 × 96.0 × 5.7 | 84.4 lb (38.3 kg) |
| TCL QM7K (75QM7K) | 65.6 × 37.8 × 2.2 | 166.6 × 96.0 × 5.6 | 54.2 lb (24.6 kg) |
| Hisense U8N (75U8N) | 65.8 × 38.0 × 2.9 | 167.1 × 96.5 × 7.4 | 75.4 lb (34.2 kg) |
Weight splits into two groups. Basic and mid-range LED sets such as the DU7200 and QM7K sit around 55 lb; premium mini-LED and Neo QLED models from Samsung, Sony and Hisense land at 75 to 85 lb. Use the heavier figure when you choose a wall mount or a glass-top stand.
| Model | Height on stand | Depth on stand | Weight with stand |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung DU7200 | 39.6 in (100.6 cm), or 40.6 in (103.1 cm) with feet in the high position | 12.8 in (32.5 cm) | 57.3 lb (26.0 kg) |
| Samsung QN90D | 40.0 in (101.7 cm) | 11.9 in (30.1 cm) | 87.5 lb (39.7 kg) |
| Sony Bravia 7 | 38.7 in (98.4 cm) | 15.9 in (40.5 cm) | 88.4 lb (40.1 kg) |
The stand adds about 1 to 3 in of height. The two-height feet on sets like the DU7200 exist so a soundbar can slide under the screen: the higher setting lifts the panel by another inch.
What size TV stand a 75-inch TV needs
Two feet near the outer edges is the most common stand design at this size, so the top of the furniture usually has to be close to the TV's full width. A center pedestal (used on the QN90D) is the exception and fits narrower furniture.
- Width: at least 67 in (170 cm) for edge-foot models. A 70 to 80 in (178–203 cm) console looks proportionate and leaves room on the ends.
- Depth: 16 in (41 cm) or more. Sony's feet need 15.9 in, Samsung's 12 to 13 in, and you want an inch or two of surface in front of the feet.
- Height: 20 to 23 in (51–58 cm). A 75-inch screen is 36.8 in tall, so a low console keeps the center of the picture near seated eye level of about 42 in.
- Load: rated for 100 lb (45 kg) or more, since the heaviest models pass 88 lb with feet attached.
The TV stand size guide covers console heights for different sofa heights, and the soundbar size guide lists bars wide enough to suit a 66 in screen.
Mounting a 75-inch TV on the wall
| VESA pattern | Models |
|---|---|
| 300 × 300 mm | Sony Bravia 7, TCL QM7K |
| 400 × 400 mm | Samsung DU7200, Samsung QN90D |
| 600 × 400 mm | Hisense U8N |
Most mounts marketed for 70 to 85-inch TVs cover all three patterns, but confirm the bracket's maximum pattern and a weight rating of at least 100 lb (45 kg). Fix it into studs or masonry, never drywall anchors alone.
- Find your seated eye height. It is about 40 to 42 in (102–107 cm) on a typical sofa. Measure from the floor to your eyes while seated.
- Set the screen center there. With a 36.8 in screen, the bottom of the picture sits 18.4 in below the center: about 23.6 in (60 cm) from the floor for a 42 in eye height. The top edge is then at about 60.4 in (153 cm).
- Convert to bracket height. The mounting holes are rarely in the middle of the back panel. Measure from the top edge of the TV to the VESA holes on your set and transfer that to the wall.
- Check over-fireplace plans. Over a mantel, the center is usually 55 in or more off the floor, so a tilting mount angled down 10 to 15° makes the picture far easier to watch.
Viewing distance and room size for a 75-inch TV
| Guideline | Feet | Meters |
|---|---|---|
| Closest for 4K (1.5 × screen height) | 4.6 ft | 1.40 m |
| THX 40° (immersive) | 7.5 ft | 2.28 m |
| SMPTE 30° (comfortable) | 10.2 ft | 3.10 m |
A sofa 7.5 to 10 ft (2.3–3.1 m) from the screen suits a 75. That is a typical living room: a room 12 to 14 ft deep, with the TV on one wall and the sofa a few feet off the opposite wall, lands right in that range. Sony's guideline for 4K sets is to sit at least 1.5 times the screen height away, 4.6 ft here, so even the close end of that range shows no pixel structure.
75-inch vs 70, 77 and 85-inch TVs
| Size | Screen W × H (in) | Screen W × H (cm) | Screen area vs 75 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 70-inch | 61.0 × 34.3 | 155.0 × 87.2 | 13% smaller |
| 75-inch | 65.4 × 36.8 | 166.0 × 93.4 | reference |
| 77-inch | 67.1 × 37.8 | 170.5 × 95.9 | 5% larger |
| 85-inch | 74.1 × 41.7 | 188.2 × 105.8 | 28% larger |
The 75 and 77 are nearly the same size: the 77 is 1.7 in wider. The real difference is technology. 75 in is the LED and mini-LED size, while 77 in is the OLED size, and the two rarely overlap. The jump to 85 adds 8.7 in of width and 4.9 in of height, which is the bigger decision. For every size from 32 to 98 inches, see the TV size chart.
75-inch TV box size and getting it home
The shipping carton for a 75-inch Samsung DU7200 measures about 72 × 44 × 7.3 in (183 × 111 × 19 cm), and retailers list the packed weight at about 74 lb (34 kg). Heavier premium models ship in similar-sized boxes but weigh 20 to 30 lb more packed, in line with the TV itself.
- Car fit: the box needs about 73 in (185 cm) of flat floor and a 44 in tall opening if it travels upright. That rules out sedans and most compact SUVs. Pickups, cargo vans and the largest SUVs and minivans can work; measure the hatch opening height before you go.
- Doors and stairs: a standard 30 to 36 in interior door takes the box on its edge without trouble. Tight stair turns are the usual problem; measure the landing diagonally.
- Keep it upright: carry and transport the box on its long edge, as printed on the carton. Lying flat lets the panel bend.
A 75-inch TV on its feet is about 40 in tall with a footprint only 12 to 16 in deep. In a home with children, strap it to the wall or the furniture with an anti-tip kit, as the US Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends, and anchor the furniture as well.
Frequently asked questions
How wide is a 75-inch TV?
The picture is 65.4 in (166 cm) wide, and the whole TV is 65.6 to 66.0 in (167–168 cm) wide on current models. Allow at least 67 in of clear width for a recess or between two cabinets.
What are the measurements of a 75-inch TV with the feet on?
With the feet attached, a 75-inch TV stands about 38.7 to 40.6 in (98–103 cm) tall and needs 12 to 16 in (30–41 cm) of depth. The width does not change: about 66 in.
What is the average weight of a 75-inch TV?
Entry and mid-range LED models weigh about 54 to 56 lb (25 kg) without the stand. Brighter mini-LED models with more backlight hardware weigh 75 to 85 lb (34–38 kg).
What pixel size should I use to design for a 75-inch screen?
A 4K 75-inch TV has 3840 × 2160 pixels. For TV interfaces, designers usually set the Figma frame to 1920 × 1080, because the main TV platforms lay out their interface on a 1080p grid and scale it 2x on 4K panels. Screen size does not change the pixel count; a 55-inch and a 75-inch 4K TV have the same 3840 × 2160 grid.
Is a 75-inch TV too big for a 10 ft room?
No. At 10 ft (3 m) a 75-inch screen fills about a 30° field of view, which is the SMPTE guideline for comfortable viewing. It feels large but not overwhelming. Below about 7.5 ft it starts to feel like a cinema front row.
How tall is a 75-inch TV?
The screen is 36.8 in (93.4 cm) tall. The TV body is 37.7 to 38.0 in (96–97 cm) tall without its stand.
